Testimonials
"Amelia loves learning Chinese with Sok Yi! She always looks forward to her class each week, and has learnt a lot in a short space of time."

"The first day at Chinese class I thought I'm never going to get this as the vowels and the way of saying/reading things was very, very different than English. However, I have found Sok Yi a very good teacher, she is patient, especially with older aged students and is clear about her teaching. She has a lovely friendly and polite manner which all adds to the benefits of a good teacher. We have just completed lesson 15 and I look forward to going to her weekly class. Thank you Sok Yi."

"I've been taking Chinese classes with Sok Yi now for 3 terms and am very happy with them. Sok Yi is very friendly, patient, knowledgeable and fun to learn with.
She tailors her classes to the need and want of her students, letting them lead where the study goes. This means that as a student you learn exactly what you want and need without spending time on topics for which you have no need or interest.
I've also had the opportunity to see Sok Yi working with children and am very impressed with how she handles and conducts classes. From kinder right through to grade 6, the children all enjoy her classes and look forward to them. Her classes are fun, interactive with lots of crafting, songs and dance. The children can join in no matter what level of knowledge they have attained and as such each child is part of the action regardless of their understanding of Chinese.
She came highly recommended to me and I can highly recommend her to others. No matter what the age group you're in, from kinder to retiree Sok Yi can tailor a class to your need and make it fun and entertaining. Thank you Sok Yi."

"Sok Yi was employed at Darwin Languages Centre throughout 2013 as a teacher in the Mandarin Language Class. Sok Yi is always well prepared. Sok Yi's class has young students, many of whom have a short concentration span, so she makes sure that she provides a stimulating program with 8 distinct activities in the 2 hour lesson. This ensures that they stay on task for each activity. Sok Yi uses a range of interactive resources, including some online, for the students to maximize their learning. She establishes a very good rapport with the students. Sok Yi's programming is clear and comprehensive. While she has been at the Darwin Languages Centre, we have had very good retention of students in her class and great feedback from parents who are very happy with her teaching. This is significant at Darwin Languages Centre because it is a "user pays" arrangement. I am confident that she will be a well prepared, dedicated teacher who provides a stimulating program for her students."
